Make your doctor aware of any conditions you may have especially: kidney disease; liver disease; gout; diabetes; or an allergy to sulfa drugs. Although Zaroxolyn is not expected to harm an unborn baby tell your doctor if you are pregnant, may become pregnant, or are breast-feeding, as Zaroxolyn can pass into the breast milk and may harm a nursing child.
Avoid the consumption of any alcohol as this may increase the risk of developing side effects. Avoid using any other medication that makes you light-headed. Try to avoid becoming overheated or dehydrated, especially during exercise or hot weather.
Patient Family Information : Always follow your doctors directions when taking this medication. Take the exact dosage your doctor prescribes for you and never take more or less medicine than your doctor has recommended. If you require surgery while taking Zaroxolyn, tell your surgeon you are on this medication beforehand.
Avoid the use of Zaroxolyn if you are allergic to Metolazone, or if you suffer from severe liver disease or you are unable to urinate.
Sever Side Effects : Serious side effects may include: allergic reaction; dry mouth, thirst, nausea, vomiting; feeling weak, drowsy, restless, or light-headed; fast or uneven heartbeat; muscle pain or weakness; chest pain; urinating less than usual or not at all; or numbness
Less severe side effects may include: dizziness; headache; joint pain; a red, blistering, peeling skin rash; or blurred vision.
