Indication : Noroxin is used to treat bacterial infections. Noroxin is a fluroquinolone antibiotic that works by killing bacteria.

Tell your doctor about any prescription or non-prescription medications that you are using before taking Noroxin. Some medicines can interact and cause unwanted side effects. If you have a stomach infection, liver problems, brain or nervous system problems, muscle problems, increased pressure in the brain, alzheimers, brain blood vessel problems, or a history of seizures, tell your doctor before taking this medication. If you have a history of severe or persistent diarrhea, skin sensitivity to the sun, recent heart attack, or blood problems, tell your doctor before using Noroxin. Tell your doctor if you have a history of irregular heart beat or heart problems, or if you have a history of joint or tendon problems, rheumatoid arthrit

Warnings : Noroxin can cause drowsiness, dizziness, or lightheadedness. These effects can worsen if you drink alcohol while using Noroxin. Do not drive or perform any unsafe tasks until you know how your body reacts to Noroxin. Long term use or repeated use of noroxin can cause another infection. If a second infection occurs, tell your doctor and he or she may have to change your medication. Avoid large amounts of food or drink that contain caffeine. Tell any doctor who treats you that you are using Noroxin.

Patient Family Information  : Noroxin comes with a medication guide. Read the guide carefully. Follow your doctor’s instructions when taking Noroxin. Take this medication by mouth on an empty stomach 1 hour before or 2 hours after a meal, or after eating any dairy products. Take Noroxin with a full glass of water. Do not take any products or medicines containing aluminum, magnesium, calcium, iron, or zinc within 2 hours before or after taking Noroxin . Take Noroxin for the full course of treatment to completely clear up your infection. Continue taking Noroxin even if you feel better. Do not miss any doses.

Contraindication : Do not use this medication if you are allergic to any ingredient in it, or to another fluoroquinolone such as levofloxacin. Do not use Noroxin if you have inflammation of a tendon or a history of a ruptured tendon caused by noroxin of a medicine similar to it. If you are taking antiarrhythmic medicines such as amiodarone, sotalol, or quinidine, do not use Noroxin.
