Synjardy (Empagliflozin/Metformin) is a prescription medication that helps with controlling blood sugar levels in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus. It belongs to a class of drugs called antidiabetic combinations and is a combination of two medications, which are Empagliflozin and Metformin. The Empagliflozin in this medication helps the kidney to discard glucose from the bloodstream, while Metformin helps reduce the production of glucose in the liver.

For improving blood sugar control in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus, the starting dosage must be based on the patient’s current medication regimen. The maximum dosage of this medication is 25mg/2000 mg per day.
When taking medication, administer it twice daily with meals. When taking the extended-release tablet, administer it once daily with a meal in the morning.
If you missed a dose of this medication, take the medication tablet as soon as you remember. However, if it is almost time for the next scheduled dose for your condition, skip the missed dose and take the next one. Don’t take a double dose of Synjardy to make up for the missed dosage.
