What is Rapamune (Sirolimus)?

Rapamune (Sirolimus) is a prescription medication that helps prevent rejection in patients 13 years of age and older who have recently received a kidney transplant. Rapamune Dosage

The recommended dose for adults with pulmonary lymphangioleiomyomatosis is 2 mg per day.  

The recommended dose for pediatric patients for rejection prophylaxis depends on their body weight. If the patient is less than 40 kg, the loading dose must be 3mg/m2 on day 1, and the maintenance dose must be 1mg/m2 once daily. If the patient is equal to or greater than 40 kg, the loading dose must be 6 mg, taken orally once daily, and the maintenance dose must be 2 mg, taken orally once daily.
