WHAT IS BIAXIN? 

Biaxin or Clarithromycin (a generic option for Biaxin) is a prescription medication that helps with the treatment of a variety of bacterial infections. • For the treatment of acute maxillary sinusitis, the recommended dosage is 500 mg, taken orally every 12 hours for 14 days.  
• For the treatment of mycobacterial infection, the recommended dosage is 500 mg, taken orally every 12 hours for 7 – 14 days.
• For the treatment of peptic ulcer disease, the recommended dosage is 500 mg, taken orally every 8 to 12 hours for 10 – 14 days.
• For the treatment of pharyngitis or tonsilitis, the recommended dosage is 250 mg, taken orally every 12 hours for 10 days.
• For the treatment of community-acquired pneumonia, the recommended dosage is 250 mg, taken orally every 12 hours for 7 – 14 days.
• For the treatment of skin-to-skin structure infection, the recommended dosage is 250 mg, taken orally every 12 hours for 7 – 14 days.
